Maya and Nico

The Monday after Maya's kindergarten graduation, the kids and I hopped a couple planes to Manchester, New Hampshire. The kids were good travelers. We had one week to spend in Vermont and New Hampshire with family. We stayed with my Mom's sister, Jean, for 2 nights. We enjoyed getting to feed their kitties treats, yummy breakfasts with munchkins donuts, and a nice walk around their neighborhood. It rained quite a bit and everything was green. The air smelled fresh and the lilacs and apple trees were blooming.

We got to see some of our cousins and had great fun playing bubbles, riding bikes and play fighting. The kids made friends quickly and Debby and I had a nice time talking.

The next rainy day we drove up to Uncle Chet's and spent the afternoon catching up with them. The kids quickly made friends with their dog, Molly, and liked the "treehouse" porch.

Then we went up to northern Vermont, to my parent's new "camp" (a small place with deluxe accommodations). They have a beautiful view of the hills, big barns and a very comfy, warm place. One evening there the rain began to turn to snow. It snowed most of the night so we woke up to a few inches of wet snow. The kids were excited to get out and play first thing in the morning. I had to brush up on my snowman-building skills (as I never had much experience) and managed to make a few small ones, including a little bunny I was quite proud of.

Another highlight of our trip was going over to Storyland in New Hampshire. It can only be described as disneyland-like. Everything was decorated wonderfully and sized just right for small children. We got to go to Cinderella's castle and see her and her glass slipper, ride the kids first roller coaster, see circus performers and eat ice cream and cotton candy.
