Nico's Doctor visit

On Thursday Nico had his 6 month shots. He is doing well and catching up with the averages for his actual age (not adjusted for preemies). He is in about the 50% percentile for height and the 30% percentile for weight. He has been growing fast. I cannot believe how much taller he is getting so quickly!

I have started feeding Nico some pears and sweet potatoes. He sucks them right down, grabbing the spoon and trying to help me get it to his mouth. He has eaten a little oatmeal, but does not enjoy it very much. I think it is too blah, so I have dressed it up with a little cinnamon for him. We will post some messy food photos before too long.
Today Maya went to daycare for the first time in about 4 months. She is going to go on Tuesdays and Thursdays for at least the next couple of months. It will be good for her to have the group activities, practicing listening skills and taking turns. She had a blast today and was in no hurry to leave when I went to pick her up.

Perspective 2

Tonight Maya was dawdling around at the table with her food, which is very typical. I told her to hurry so we could go upstairs and build a tower and read a book before bed. Dawdling continued. After a while I told her that she needed to hurry. She said, "so I can build a tower?" Then I said, "no, it's too late now to do that." She replied with, "But if I can't build a tower then we aren't going to be able to read a book." ~ Is that a threat?

Perspective

The other day Maya, Nico and I went to the park. On the way there we said hello to our neighbors. At the park Maya greeted each of the people playing tennis. On the way home she waved and said "Hiiee!" to the Rent A Center delivery man. Of course he said hello back. Then she said to me, "Mommy, every one is so excited to see us!"
